THE SIX MIRACLES OF NATURE

THE SIX MIRACLES ARE (click on each for more info):
  1. There's something instead of nothing.
  2. From the beginning, things started evolving.
  3. Life arose.
  4. Life evolved.
  5. Living things became able to think.
  6. Thoughts and inspiration became possible independent of genetic heritage.

WHY ARE THE SIX MIRACLES IMPORTANT?

Their sequence indicates a direction taken by the Universe's evolution. Since there is direction, it seems that there must be some kind of destination or end result. In spiritual terms we can describe the goal of this evolution as The Creator's Plan, or Will. We humans, being part of the Creator's evolving plan, would do well to harmonize our lives with the spirit of The Plan. For example, in Nature we see that recycling is practiced, and that evolution leads to ever more diversity. Therefore, we can say that Nature teaches that we humans should recycle, and revere the Earth's diversity.

WHAT DO THE SYMBOLS BEHIND THIS WHITE PAGE MEAN?

This is a symbol used in Taoism, an ancient set of Oriental philosophical and religious traditions that over time has largely degenerated into a religion concerned with magical rites, the use of potions, and the like. The symbol is used here because it represents what we believe to be a fundamental state of reality -- that reality is the expression of a certain tension between opposite impulses, and that at the heart of everything there lies the seed of its opposite. Here the tan color represents in inorganic or mineral part of the Earthly biosphere, while green is the color of Life on Earth. Like the Earth, the sphere is suspended in space, represented by sky blue. The image is constructed of tiny points to emphasize the abstract, spiritual nature of the subject being considered here and to suggest that we must always struggle to assimilate our tiny points of information and insight into a more vivid concept of what is going on in the ever-evolving Universe.
