GENERAL BOOKS ON
NATURE

book with wingsSitting in a favorite overstuffed chair or maybe in bed or beneath a park tree, a gifted author carries you into his or her secret realm and explores one tiny aspect of nature. An ecology of the mind is created, populated with fantastic (but possibly very common) plants and animals. You see things from the worm's point of view, from beneath the leaf, from sky high through the glint in a hawk's eye, from inside a cloud of drifting magnolia-blossom perfume. And this feels good in several different ways.
