PEOPLE ARE
PART OF NATURE

The concept of "backyard nature" is misleading. For, Nature is everywhere, and our backyards are just tiny parts of it.

Moreover, even we humans are part of Nature. The human species belong to the Animal Kingdom. We are primates, along with apes, monkeys an related forms such as lemurs and tarsiers.

Every living creature is endowed with special adaptations that enable it to survive. Humanity's main adaptation is its ability to think much better than any other living thing on Earth.

If you have experience with computers, maybe you've figured out that the more complex your machine is, the more complex can be the problems that can arise with it. Keeping this in mind, we can easily believe that the human mind is capable of much irrational thought.

This is dangerous, because right now Life on Earth is threatened by human behavior. Now, more than any other time in the history of Life on Earth, humans must think clearly. We must be able to determine what is fact, and what is false. And then we must act based on what we understand.

There is a problem, though. Some of humanity's most cherished institutions are based on mythologies, fables and superstitions.

To be specific, if Life on Earth is to survive, humanity must focus on anylyzing proven facts, and not be distracted by traditional institutions such as political theories, or religions. And most definitely we should not let ourselves be blinded by primitive impulses inherited from our primate ancestors, which express themselves in such states of mind as racism, tribalism, or nationalism.
